Sylvie K. Munanga

Sylvie K. Munanga is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has an educational background in Child and Family Psychology and has always had a passion for children and their intellectual and psychological development.

She co-authored the books “Meeting the okapi”, “Meeting the bonobo” and “Meeting the mountain gorilla” with fellow author Julie Ilondo Nguini.

As part of the All about Congo projects, Sylvie places extra focus on the creative process and the tools needed to facilitate children’s education (The use of fun images, vibrant colors, and easy words) through our books.

Julie Ilondo Nguini

Julie Ilondo Nguini resides in The United States of America. She pursued her education in Journalism and Media Studies in Johannesburg, South Africa. Julie is deeply passionate about education, particularly for marginalized groups. During her time in South Africa, she authored several pieces.

She has started writing children books in 2021 to help children all over the world know about her country of origin, the Congo through the collection “It’s all about Congo.” She has co-authored “Meeting the okapi”, “Meeting the bonobo” and “Meeting the mountain gorilla” with Sylvie Munanga.

Currently, Julie is actively involved in various literacy projects in the Congo through Naviprojects LLC, a venture she co-owns. Her goal is to reach children children living in refugees camps ans places where books are still not accessible to kids in the Congo and other African countries.

In her spare time, she likes reading, traveling and spend time with her family.
